What does your everyday disc golf routine look like?
My favourite session is running 2.5 km to my local AFL (Australian Football League) oval with my distance drivers. This field is exactly 140m from goal to goal and I just love trying to rip them through the goals from the other end of the field. I do this until my arm starts to get sore and then I run back home. It is only really in the 2 weeks leading up to a tournament that I really starting to focus in on my putting.
Tell us about your favourite Kastaplast disc?
I would have to pick the Grym x. It feels great in the hand and gives me the confidence to attack the pin in any conditions. It has distance for days and there is nothing better then just watching the full flight of a distance driver.
What is your best disc golf memory?
I love being part of the Final 9. Having everyone watching as the pressure builds down the home stretch of the tournament. My first experience of this at the Australian Disc Golf Championships at the Armoury in Sydney was unreal and I held on for 2nd place edging out a strong New Zealand contingent.
Name one of your odd talents, or, what you like to do when not throwing plastic?
When I’m not throwing plastic I am chasing it. I love playing Ultimate frisbee and the training I do for it has great cross over into disc golf. Playing Ultimate tournaments with my Newcastle teammates is always a blast.
