Drag reduction system (patent pending)
In short, our invention reduces drag generated by the inner rim when the disc is flying. Another gain with this solution is that the disc’s rim can be made thinner than on the typical high speed driver, while still keeping the high speed characteristics.
The background is this: For each year we’ve seen the rim getting wider and wider on the typical distance driver, making it more streamlined. Meanwhile, very little has been done to reduce the drag from the inner side of the rim to make the disc better suited for high speed flying. With this invention airflow is directed below the inner side of the rim, instead of having the inner rim fully exposed to airflow.
